This year, I would like to suggest a nomination and vote process.
Nominations for people (can be self nominated or other) for the different categories will be received, before voting by all club members occurs. Voting will be done anonymously. Then the award title will (hopefully) be given at the end of the year gathering, or Christmas Party etc.
Current suggested awards, with a relevant category of candidates:
- Most Valued Player (based on performances at competitions/events, Beginner & Senior)
- Most Improved Player (based on improvement across all avenues, whole club)
- Gambatte! Award (Encouragement award for enthusiasm, Non-senior)

We then move onto the more.... less serious side of things.

- Kendotaku Award (Biggest Kendo Otaku, whole club)
- Pie! [Craziest Kiai] Award (Enough said lol)
- Potentio Award (Player with "potential", phrased after Mark stated to one beginner years ago, "Hmm, I think you have potential". Beginner)
- Smiling Assassin Award (Awarded to player who has the best "sweet"-ness before instantly turning into a demon attacking, in honour of Yukari-Sama, the original, Female only)

- Machinegun Award (Awarded to player who has the best continous attacking, in honour of Mark's Machinegun)
- Pulped Award (Awarded to player who survived the best during their initiation).

If people have other suggestions, feel free to leave them as comments in the comment box below.
A closing date for nominations will be given at a later date before voting begins. Nominations can also be left in the comments box.
If you haven't been nominated, don't feel too bad, feel good even, especially if you haven't been nominated for the Oni-Waza award, as there is always room for everyone including me, to improve and try to better our Kendo.
Happy Nominating~
